The ex Senator and Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, Sen. Anthony Adefuye has adviced the President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu to work very hard in ensuring that the government come to place.
He made this statement during an interview with Prismedia channel emphasizing on how Tinubu has transformed the nation so far after his emergence as President hoping for more from him for the betterment of the country, Nigeria .
In the interview,he was questioned concerning the challenges faced during the campaign and his takes now that his party has taken over ,he said “ During the campaign,we underestimated our opponents. We never knew religious differences will come in, we never expected the Muslim -Muslim ticket to give us the problem we had during the campaign but we were taken by surprise when we saw the reaction of the Christian against the Muslim-Muslim ticket. That was one of the surprises. I’ve never expected Nigeria today to still consider religion when they’re voting but in Lagos here, I found out that there were more Christian in Lagos than Muslims so during the second election we made sure we took care of the religious campaign and that was why we were able to win the Guber election and other election comfortably.”
In his opinion on the recent fuel hike, he stated that he expected new things and good things from the President with claims that he(Tinubu) is an hardworking man and a goal getter who goes after what he wants, aiming to make life sweet for an average Nigerian. “I have no doubt in mind that he can do it,he has done it before and he’ll always do it. At the end of the day,if people can be patient they’re going to enjoy him and find him as the best president they have ever had.”
“We are surviving it, and I’m very sure Nigeria will smile about the fuel subsidy soon. Although there’s no way we can avoid the minimum wage, it’s simple and straight forward that an average Nigerian cannot survive on 30,000 per annum, it’s impossible. We have to do something about it and I’m sure he’s coming up with a solution,” he added.
Concluding on the case of insecurity, his party, according to him was the only party to tackle insecurity in the last eight years except Obasanjo who tried and then stopped. “Twelve local government were being controlled by aliens, now we’ve taken those back during the ruling of the APC and very soon, insecurity will be the thing of the past.”
He however advised the president to carefully take steps and should not neglect those who work very hard. He should also consider capable people who are also members of the party and have worked for the party.
