A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former spokesman for Atiku Abubakar, Segun Sowunmi, has accused President Bola Tinubu of being the root cause of the turmoil within the opposition party.

Sowunmi argued that Tinubu’s decision to appoint former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) without consulting PDP elders has destabilized the party’s internal structure.

“President Tinubu is the problem of the PDP; he has no business taking Wike from our party and appointing him as minister without talking to us,” Sowunmi stated during an interview on Channels TV.

He suggested that dismissing Wike and facilitating his return to the PDP would restore order and unity within the party.

Sowunmi further emphasized, “If he wants everything to be okay, sack Wike and return him back to PDP and see if the party will not have stamina and move fast.”

His statement highlights growing tensions and the need for transparent, conciliatory actions to prevent further division within the PDP and ensure national political stability.
