Shock across Katsina State on Sunday evening following news that Governor Dikko Umaru Radda was involved in a road accident.
The incident occurred along the busy Daura-Katsina highway during one of his official assignments.
According to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, the Governor was on duty when the accident happened.
Thankfully, he came out unhurt and is said to be in good health and high spirits.
“We are pleased to confirm that the Governor is in good health and stable condition, with no serious injuries sustained,” the statement read.
However, the immediate release of an official statement helped to calm the rising concerns.

The Chief Press Secretary added that the Governor remains committed to his duties despite the incident.
Although the statement did not detail what caused the accident or whether other members of the convoy were involved, it stressed that Governor Radda remains grateful to God for protection.
He also expressed appreciation to the people of Katsina and other Nigerians who reached out to offer prayers and support.
“The Governor has since expressed deep gratitude to Almighty Allah for divine protection,” the statement added.
The Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Radda, had been on a routine trip when the unexpected incident happened.
The Daura-Katsina road, where the crash occurred, is a major route often used by high-ranking officials.
It links the state capital to Daura, the home town of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

In recent weeks, the highway has seen increased traffic due to heightened political activity and public engagements in the area.
Meanwhile, reactions on social media have been largely positive, with many expressing relief over the Governor’s safety.
“We thank God for his life,” one supporter posted on X (formerly Twitter).
As of Monday morning, Government House confirmed that he has resumed duties.
