The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has placed popular Nollywood actress Shirley Igwe on indefinite suspension.
This decision follows disturbing reports that she slapped a crew member during a movie production.
The news, which broke late Monday, has stirred serious reactions within the entertainment industry.
According to reports, the incident involved a member of the Creative Designers Guild of Nigeria (CDGN).
The AGN wasted no time in addressing the matter.

In an official statement sent to its national and state executives, the Guild announced its decision to suspend Shirley Igwe from all film-related activities.
“Members are hereby directed to refrain from participating in any film production involving her,” the Guild instructed.
The statement further explained the reason behind the strong disciplinary move.
AGN cited “violence and indiscipline actions capable of discrediting the acting profession.”
It added that the suspension would remain until investigations are concluded.
Although Igwe has not issued a public statement, the case has drawn attention to on-set conduct among actors and crew.
In addition, stakeholders from the Creative Designers Guild of Nigeria (CDGN) are calling for better protection of their members on set. Some have taken to social media, calling for justice and proper accountability.
