A new hearing date has been set ahead of the retrial of former Manchester United player Ryan Giggs.Giggs is accused of assaulting his former partner, Kate Greville, causing serious bodily harm, as well as assaulting Greville’s younger sister, Emma, on Thursday.After failing to obtain a decision in the prior trial, the judge was discharged in August 2022.
Giggs did not appear at Manchester Crown Court for a pre-trial hearing ahead of the retrial on July 31.Several legal discussions could not be recounted, and Judge Hilary Manley stated that a further hearing on July 6 will be required.Manchester United won 13 Premier League titles, two Champions League trophies, four FA Cups, and three League Cups during Giggs’ tenure at Old Trafford.
