Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot has issued a stern warning to teammates, including Marcus Rashford, following their surprise omission from the squad in Sunday’s 2-1 win over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
Manager Ruben Amorim dropped Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho, citing poor training performances as the reason behind the bold decision, which ultimately paid off with a dramatic late victory.
Dalot emphasized the non-negotiable standards set by Amorim, stating, “If you want to succeed at this club, you have to suffer. If you’re ready to do that with us, we are going to be a good team. If not, there is no space for you.”
The Portuguese full-back further highlighted that hard work and commitment are key to achieving success under Amorim’s leadership.
“The message was clear from the beginning — success requires suffering, not just in football but in life. If you want success, you have to work hard and embrace the challenges,”he added.
This comes as a wake-up call for Rashford and others to step up their efforts and meet the club’s high expectations.
