Dani Alves has declared that he is innocent regarding the rape allegation leveled against him.The Brazilian defender, who defended his innocence in an interview on Wednesday said he has a “clear conscience”.
The former PSG player who was detained in January in Barcelona after being accused of raping a young woman in late December has been remanded without bail for allegedly being a flight risk.Speaking on his continuous detention, the one-time Barcelona defender said: “I have a really clear conscience regarding what happened that night in the bathroom of the VIP area of the Sutton nightclub, he said in his first interview since his arrest.
“What happened and what didn’t happen? And what didn’t happen is that I forced this woman to do anything that we did,” he added.Recall that Alves had initially denied knowledge of the defendant in an interview when the story first broke and before his arrest.
However, he later admitted he had consensual relations with the same woman he had initially denied.He disclosed how he struggled to save his marriage.He said: “I fought desperately to save my marriage from my infidelity, without worrying about the consequences that I am paying today.”
