Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Communication and Orientation, has dismissed rumors of a “cabal” controlling the presidency, insisting that the president remains fully in charge of the nation’s governance.
Addressing the matter on Channels TV, Dare explained that those perceived as part of a cabal are, in reality, critical advisors in key sectors, providing President Tinubu with essential data for informed decision-making.
“These are people who are advisors, who must advise the President on trends, who must put critical data in front of him, and they have access to him,” Dare stated.
He highlighted that routine briefings by ministers and top officials are standard practice, not evidence of undue influence.
Dare emphasized that Tinubu is actively engaged in addressing the country’s challenges, using facts as the basis for his decisions rather than rushing into potentially impulsive actions.
To illustrate the president’s proactive stance, Dare pointed to Tinubu’s decision to cancel the Central Bank’s cybersecurity tax, remarking,
“The President is 100 percent in charge, and he has always been from day one. He dealt with what the facts are.”
The advisor’s statements aim to reassure the public that Tinubu is aware of the nation’s hardships and is taking deliberate, fact-based steps to alleviate them, even if these measures may appear slow to some.
