In a bold declaration that has stirred mixed reactions, Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), claimed that Tinubu’s achievements within just two years surpass those of all former presidents in Nigeria’s democratic history.
Speaking on Arise TV’s The Morning Show on Wednesday, June 4, Morka stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has not only taken bold economic steps but has also prioritized lasting reform over fleeting popularity.
This, he said, marks a significant shift from previous administrations.
“This President has done more than all the presidents before him,” Morka declared during the interview.
“His direction of ordering our priorities, tackling some of the most acerbic challenges faced by the economy of our country…
he has decided that he’s not about looking for cheap popularity, but doing those things that may momentarily seem unpopular but are decidedly crucial to the long-term good health of our country’s economy.”
His comments come amid rising criticism from opposition figures, who have questioned the direction of Tinubu’s leadership.
However, Morka dismissed these voices, arguing that they lack both substance and alternatives.
“All of the hues and cries by members of the oppositions whether it’s Rotimi Amaechi or former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, or former Kaduna Governor, Malam El-Rufai don’t cut it,” he said.
Morka maintained that President Tinubu remains focused and unfazed by negative commentary, stating that the critics have failed to provide any concrete plans or better solutions to Nigeria’s ongoing challenges.
“What is funny is that all of these voices put together don’t even begin to speak to what they think this President should be doing different from what he’s doing,” he added.
“Not one of them has come with any kind of informed prescription of what the President should be doing.”
Morka’s comments seem to reflect growing confidence within the APC regarding the President’s performance so far.
He believes the administration has made key decisions that will benefit the country in the long run, even if those choices seem tough in the present moment.
Furthermore, his remarks highlight the ongoing political tension between the ruling party and opposition figures.
Still, Morka insists that Tinubu is determined to remain focused and deliver real results.
Meanwhile, many Nigerians remain divided on whether Tinubu’s achievements are truly historic or just politically inflated.
