President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has issued a strong call to All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders in Oyo State, urging them to unite to reclaim the state in the 2027 elections.
Represented by Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu at the inaugural Lam Adesina annual lecture in Ibadan, Tinubu stressed the strategic importance of Oyo State to APC’s broader goals, stating, “Oyo is too important to be missing among the progressive states.”
He highlighted that unity is essential if the APC hopes to secure a victory and bring Oyo back into the “progressive fold.”
The lecture, named after former Oyo Governor Lam Adesina, drew prominent political figures and traditional leaders, including former governors, senators, and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, underscoring the event’s significance.
Adelabu conveyed Tinubu’s vision, urging party members, “To honour Lam Adesina’s legacy, Progressives in Oyo State must come together as one. You all must fight the fight and win the battle.”
With the APC’s recent losses to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2019 and 2023, Tinubu’s message underscored the need for unity and renewed effort among APC stakeholders to inspire confidence among voters and revitalize core values within the party as they work toward 2027.
