Controversial street singer Portable has sent a clear message to Nigerians barely hours after being released from police custody.
The artist, known for his outspoken behavior, made it known that he would no longer tolerate any form of defamation from the public.
Portable was recently arrested in connection with a defamation case filed by Fuji icon Saheed Osupa, whose full name is Okunola Saheed.
The case had led to his appearance in a court in Kwara State, where he was granted bail on Monday, April 14, 2025.
His lawyer, Isaac Adebayo, confirmed to the media that the bail was approved after “an oral application” was made on his behalf.
The arrest, which made rounds on social media, stirred various reactions from fans and critics alike.
However, the artist wasted no time in responding to his critics.
Following his release, Portable shared a video online warning Nigerians to be careful about what they say or comment under his posts. In his words, “I am ready to get anyone arrested if they defame me especially under comment sections.”
This statement has now gone viral, sparking debates about freedom of speech and online respect.
The artist, who has had several run-ins with law enforcement in the past, emphasized that he’s not joking this time.
“I won’t spare anyone who falls victim,”he added in the video, which appeared to be recorded shortly after he left the court.
Moreover, Portable’s tone in the video shows that he is deeply concerned about how he is portrayed in the public.
He believes the media and individuals online should be more careful with their words, especially since he’s just coming out of a legal issue.
