The Petroleum Products Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) has confirmed that the Port Harcourt refinery is now operational, with petrol priced at ₦1,030 per litre.
This development follows weeks of speculation after the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) announced the commencement of operations and the truckout of petroleum products from the refurbished facility.
In a statement on Thursday night, PETROAN spokesman Joseph Obele disclosed that the NNPCL officially communicated the petrol price and opened the product request portal for bookings.
Obele stated, “NNPC Retail Ltd has officially announced the PMS price at the Port Harcourt refinery as ₦1,030 per litre.”
While welcoming the refinery’s operation, PETROAN urged the NNPCL to consider further price reductions, emphasizing the need for a more affordable petrol price to ensure a smoother and more joyous Yuletide season for Nigerians.
