The couple, who married in an intimate ceremony near Barcelona in 2014, have reportedly been living apart for over five years, with Serra residing full-time in Barcelona and Guardiola remaining in Manchester.

The split is said to have been finalized in December 2024, with only close friends and family initially informed.

According to Sport, the couple’s relationship remains “totally cordial, stable, and friendly” despite their decision to part ways.

Trusted friends and family have been instructed not to disclose further details about the separation, respecting the couple’s privacy.

Guardiola, 53, and Serra, a Brazilian journalist and writer, met in 1994 and share three children: Maria, 24; Marius, 22; and Valentina, 17.

While Guardiola stayed in Manchester to focus on his career with Manchester City, Serra moved to Barcelona in 2019 to work in a family-owned fashion business, Serra Claret.

The couple’s separation, while amicable, marks the end of a long and admired partnership.

Friends of the family have noted that their decision to keep the matter private reflects their deep mutual respect.

Despite not living in the same city for years, Guardiola and Serra had maintained a close bond, often appearing together at events.

In November, Guardiola signed a new two-year contract with Manchester City, extending his stay with the club until 2027.

The extension surprised many, as it was previously believed that he might leave at the end of his previous deal.

However, this professional milestone contrasts with the personal challenges he now faces.

As news of the split circulates, fans and supporters have expressed their sadness over the end of the relationship.

While the reason for their separation remains private, it is hoped that both Guardiola and Serra will find happiness as they navigate this new chapter in their lives.
