Paul Pogba is officially making a comeback to professional football after serving an 18-month suspension for a doping violation.
The French midfielder has reportedly signed a two-year deal with Ligue 1 club, AS Monaco.
This marks a significant step in Pogba’s journey after facing a turbulent period in his career.
The former Manchester United and Juventus star was initially handed a four-year ban for testing positive for DHEA, a banned substance known to increase testosterone levels.

However, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) later ruled that the substance had limited effect in males and confirmed that Pogba had taken it unknowingly, reducing the ban to 18 months.
The suspension officially ended earlier in the year, allowing Pogba to begin discussions for a potential return to the pitch.
According to French outlet Le Parisien, Pogba accepted “significant financial sacrifices” to complete his move to Monaco.
Talks between the player and club executives reportedly lasted several days before an agreement was reached.
The report also revealed that Pogba had visited Monaco earlier this month to meet with the club’s leadership.
During that time, he began preparing for the logistics of his move, which included scouting for housing, arranging transportation, and planning personal security measures.
The move to Monaco provides Pogba with an opportunity to play in the UEFA Champions League once again.

The Ligue 1 side finished third in the 2024/2025 season, securing a place in Europe’s top competition alongside PSG and Marseille.
Pogba’s return is viewed by many fans as a chance for redemption.
His football career had been on a steady decline due to injuries and off-field controversies before the doping incident further complicated his reputation.
Despite the setbacks, Pogba has always maintained his passion for the game.
His move to Monaco is expected to mark a new beginning for the World Cup winner, who still has much to offer on the field.
