Onyinyechi Basil Shines as Miss Universe Nigeria 2025 Winner

Nigeria has a new beauty queen, and it came as a delightful surprise to many.

Onyinyechi Basil from Anambra State has been crowned the winner of Miss Universe Nigeria 2025, an achievement that has placed her at the center of global attention.

The glamorous finale was held on Saturday, September 30, at the Convention Center of Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The star-studded evening was hosted by Anthony Abraham and Victory Wilson, keeping the crowd energized throughout the event.

Out of 22 contestants who were unveiled on August 26, the competition was narrowed down through several rounds.

The top 10 were selected, and eventually, the final five contestants emerged.

The finalists included Miss Ogun, Miss Lagos, Miss Akwa Ibom, Miss Anambra, and Miss Bayelsa.

In the end, Onyinyechi Basil stood out with her elegance, intelligence, and poise, securing the crown.

She impressed the judges in different categories, including swimwear, traditional costume, evening wear, and the question-and-answer session.

Her confidence and grace throughout the evening earned her the title.

The first runner-up position went to Damilola Bolarinde of Lagos, while Bayelsa’s Fortune Kurobo and Ogun’s Irene Ikediashi finished as second and third runners-up.

Meanwhile, Idah Eno, representing Akwa Ibom, was crowned Miss Supranational Nigeria 2025, another notable highlight of the evening.

For her victory, Basil will not only wear the crown but also represent Nigeria at the 74th Miss Universe pageant scheduled for November 20 in Bangkok, Thailand.

This opportunity places her on the global stage alongside contestants from across the world.

In addition to the international representation, Basil will also receive a cash prize, brand endorsements, material gifts, training opportunities, and paid appearances.
