One killed, 15 injured as commuter bus crashes into train

A passenger was killed and 15 others got injured after a commuter bus crashed into a passenger train in Tanzania’s commercial city of Dar es Salaam Thursday morning, the police said.

The accident occurred at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT), as stated by Sebastian Mbuta, Tanzania Railways police commander, adding that the driver of the commuter bus was warned of the coming train near a railway crossing but he ignored the order and crashed into the train as he attempted to cross the rail track.

Mbuta added that one of the injured passengers broke an arm while others suffered bruises, adding that they were all sent to hospital.
