Obidient Movement Condemns Threats Against Peter Obi, Demands Investigation into APC’s Remarks

The Obidient Movement has strongly condemned recent remarks made by Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), regarding former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi.

The group expressed concern over statements perceived as threats and urged authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly to clarify the issue.

During an interview on Arise TV, Morka stated that Peter Obi had “crossed the line so many times” and should “manage whatever he gets.”

Reacting to the statement, the Obidient Movement described it as “reckless, unacceptable, and a clear endorsement of violence.”

The group further argued that such remarks could endanger Peter Obi’s safety and undermine Nigeria’s democracy.

In its statement, signed by Yunusa Tanko, the group demanded clarification, asking, “What exactly does Felix Morka mean by ‘what’s coming to Peter Obi’?” he stated.

The Obidient Movement warned that if any harm comes to Peter Obi, his family, or supporters, the APC-led government and its agents would be held accountable.

“This declaration is a direct threat to his life and a danger to peace,” the group stated.

It also called on security agencies to investigate Morka’s remarks and ensure that similar threats are not dismissed and to avoid reoccurrence.

The group urged Nigerians and the international community to remain vigilant, noting the increasing hostility towards opposition voices.

Meanwhile, Peter Obi has raised alarms, claiming threats to his life due to his criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

The Obidient Movement emphasized the need for dialogue over intimidation and encouraged the government to prioritize democratic values.

“If we truly value democracy, then threats and intimidation must give way to engagement and respect for differing opinions,” the group stated.

The situation continues to draw widespread attention and curiosity, with many calling for calm and a peaceful resolution to the rising political tension.
