The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Niger conducted a fresh gubernatorial primary election on Thursday,Minna which arose confusion in the state chapter.
Earlier ,it was reported that a businessman, Ibrahim Yahaya-Sokodeke, had emerged as the candidate during the party’s primaries in May.But the state executive petitioned the party ,July 6 signed by the state chairman Maman Damisa shortly after the election as he called for the disqualification of Mr Sokodeke over alleged anti-party activities.
Fresh election is however being conducted to make a path for former governorship aspirant of APC , Idris Mohammed -Malagi. Mr Sokodeke reacted to this as he reaffirmed that he is still in the race and hasn’t stepped down for anybody , appealing his supporters to remain calm and steadfast.
