Manchester City’s players were required to spend Christmas night at the club’s training ground in preparation for their crucial Boxing Day fixture against Everton.
The decision, revealed by manager Pep Guardiola, was made to help the team regain focus and bounce back from their recent struggles.
“We train today (Tuesday), we train tomorrow (Wednesday) night, we will stay over here, and we are going to play on Boxing Day,” Guardiola stated, adding, “Hopefully, they want to be here, because it’s our job.”
Meanwhile, Guardiola acknowledged the team’s recent form, describing it as the most challenging period of his managerial career, with nine losses in their last 12 matches.
However, he expressed optimism, saying, “We have players coming back, and at a certain time we will be better.”
As the team strives to end their winless streak since December 4, Guardiola emphasized the importance of unity, effort, and determination to turn their season around.
