Lagos civilian stops LASTMA officials for disobeying road rules and regulations

A Lagos civilian stopped a vehicle belonging to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) for driving against traffic. It was gathered that there were three operatives in the vehicle.

The incident occurred around Third Mainland Bridge area of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria where the civilian videoed the LASTMA vehicle for driving one-way against traffic.The man, by Twitter name, Demola of Lagos, displayed the video on his twitter handle and wrote: “Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, your darling LASTMA officials who in collaboration with the Lagos State Government, recently auctioned off people’s vehicles for driving one-way against traffic. When dem go auction this truck? You did well @Dagbofather” “Them dey follow one-way dey come, see my car, see where we dey come from, third mainland, no man’s road, I stop them, them dey tell me say make I pass here, look at them, look at their faces, I am not leaving this place for them, look at me. I am not leaving this place for these fuckers today, bastard, oga reverse this car, na God go punish you today, you are an idiot…”

The Lagos State Police Command spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, gave a reply this on Saturday while reacting to the viral video as he said :“Citizen arrest + invective = good job; Police arrest + invective = harassment, unprofessionalism. Double standards, I guess. While we commence investigation into this, please call out @followlastma.” “I have contacted LASTMA authorities and the head of the Police unit with LASTMA.“I can confirm that internal investigation has begun. This will not be swept under the carpet. We appreciate citizen reportage.I just got confirmation that the entire team has been identified and summoned to @followlastma headquarters. Updates will follow.”
