Tensions between Israel and Iran reached a boiling point on Monday, June 16, after an Israeli airstrike targeted the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) building in Tehran.
The attack, which happened during a live broadcast, sparked immediate chaos and added fuel to an already volatile conflict.
Viewers across Iran watched in disbelief as the IRIB presenter left the set suddenly, just moments before the screen went dark.
According to local media, the presenter had been openly criticizing Israel when the explosion disrupted the program.

Smoke was later seen rising from the southwestern part of Tehran, confirming the severity of the attack.
The airstrike marks a dangerous shift in the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict, especially as it struck a media outlet mid-broadcast.
This latest act has raised concerns among global leaders and intensified calls for restraint.
Moreover, the symbolic nature of hitting a state-owned broadcaster has sparked fresh fears about press freedom and civilian safety in wartime.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry did not hold back in its reaction.
Spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei strongly denounced the strike, stating, “The UNSC must act now to stop the genocidal aggressor from committing further atrocities against our people.” He went further to call the incident a “war crime” and a “wicked act.”
Furthermore, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) joined in the condemnation.
In an official statement, they described the strike as an “inhuman, criminal, and terrorist act.”
The IRGC emphasized that the deliberate attack on a civilian media institution must not go unpunished.
This escalation comes just days after Israel launched a surprise offensive targeting various locations inside Iranian territory.
Israeli officials claimed the strikes were aimed at nuclear and military facilities.

However, Iranian authorities report that at least 224 people have died in the recent wave of attacks, including nuclear scientists, military leaders, and innocent civilians.
In response, Iran has launched a series of retaliatory drone and missile strikes into Israeli cities.
The Israeli Prime Minister’s office has confirmed at least 24 people lost their lives in these counterattacks.
The death toll continues to rise as both nations exchange blows, leaving many civilians caught in the middle of the crossfire.
This latest development shows that the Iran-Israel conflict has taken a new and deeply concerning turn.
