Fubara Secures Eneka’s Support Ahead of 2027 Elections

Residents of Eneka and kinsmen of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, have openly declared support for Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s second-term ambition.

The endorsement, which many described as unexpected, was made during the 2025 Eneka Day celebration in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.

The event, held at State Primary School One, Eneka, carried the theme, “Unity: Our Strength for Progress.”

It quickly turned into a strong political statement in favour of the Rivers State governor.

Community leaders said the decision was driven by visible development and renewed trust in governance.

Therefore, the gathering drew attention beyond cultural celebrations and into the 2027 political space.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Eneka Community Development Committee, Lawson Chukwu, voiced the community’s position clearly.

“Our people stand firmly with Governor Fubara. We appreciate the developments in our communities, and we call on the government to repair our internal roads.”

He, however, added another key demand tied to tradition and unity.
“Elevating our traditional stool to first-class status will strengthen our cultural heritage and promote unity among our people.”

Moreover, the political weight of the endorsement was reinforced by Senator John Azuta-Mbata.

The senator is the political leader of the Eneka Clan and President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide.

He said, “The people of Eneka recognise Governor Fubara as the legitimate leader of Rivers State. Our support and friendship remain firm and unbroken.”
The statement was greeted with applause from residents and guests at the celebration.

Meanwhile, Governor Fubara responded by assuring the community of continued attention and fairness.

“I am grateful for your confidence and loyalty. We will prioritise the repair of internal roads and improve access to your communities.”

In addition, the governor addressed the sensitive issue of traditional leadership raised earlier.

“I have directed the Commissioner for Chieftaincy and Community Affairs to start the process to elevate the Eneka stool from second-class to first-class status.”

Furthermore, he stressed that peace and cooperation remain vital for development to reach grassroots areas.

“A united and peaceful community makes it easier for the government to deliver meaningful development projects,” he said.

Observers noted that this open backing strengthens the Fubara second-term endorsement narrative across Rivers State.

It also signals growing grassroots confidence despite political tensions linked to past power blocs.
