Four individuals sustained injuries on Sunday, Nov. 3, after a Mazda commercial bus collided head-on with a Toyota car along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.
The accident occurred around 3:20 p.m. near Agbo-Malu Bus Stop, Age-Mowo axis, involving 18 people in total.
Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Badagry Command unit commander William Manga confirmed the incident, stating,
“Our personnel were alerted about the accident immediately, and we got to the scene at 3.23 p.m., three minutes after they were alerted.”
The injured passengers were promptly taken to General Hospital, Badagry, for medical treatment.
According to the FRSC, the accident resulted from dangerous driving by both drivers involved.
Manga emphasized the need for passengers to actively caution drivers against excessive speed, particularly on high-risk, one-lane routes like this expressway.
“Passengers should always caution drivers against speeding,” he urged.
Moreover, stricter government enforcement on speeding and road safety regulations has been called for, as reckless driving has repeatedly led to loss of lives and injuries.
Condolences go out to the families affected, and prayers for a quick recovery are extended to those injured.
