This decision, announced by the Acting Head of the FCT Civil Service, Mrs. Grace Adayilo, underscores Wike’s commitment to prioritizing staff welfare amidst ongoing economic challenges.

“This gesture underscores the minister’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of FCT staff,” read a statement from Adayilo’s press secretary, Ewhenji Anthony Odey.

The salary increase and arrears payment are expected to improve staff morale, aligning with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, championed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Adayilo highlighted the importance of the initiative, stating, “This initiative will inspire the workforce to actively support the minister’s goals for the FCT.”

By addressing long-standing financial concerns and enhancing the minimum wage, Wike has strategically positioned the FCT Administration for greater productivity and alignment with federal objectives.

FCTA staff have lauded the move, viewing it as a much-needed morale booster in light of the nation’s economic difficulties.

While acknowledging that it may not solve all financial struggles, many believe the initiative represents a step in the right direction, fostering a supportive and motivated work environment.

The decision also highlights Wike’s leadership in implementing meaningful labor reforms, providing a model for other administrations to follow during ongoing national debates on wage increases.
