“Dangote Is Nigeria’s Biggest Debtor” — Dr Cosmos Maduka

Nigerian businessman Dr Cosmos Maduka recently described Aliko Dangote as the number one debtor in Nigeria.

He made this revelation during a public discussion, where he emphasized the importance of credit and responsible borrowing in building wealth.

However, Dangote has not responded to the statement or shared his side of the story.

According to Dr Maduka, most of the wealth seen around the world is built on structured loans.

He encouraged entrepreneurs and individuals to understand how credit works and to use it wisely.

Meanwhile, his comment has stirred reactions across social media and sparked fresh debates about debt and wealth in Nigeria.

He said, “The number one debtor in Nigeria is Aliko Dangote. He’s the wealthiest man in Africa.

The number one debtor in the world is the United States of America and you call them the richest in the world.”

He went on to explain that borrowing itself is not bad, but it must be approached with caution.

“As you admire all of those things, it’s all credit. It’s all about credit.

So you should leverage on loan, but you have to have a good structure that will support that loan,” he advised.

Furthermore, Maduka recommended that individuals avoid borrowing more than a safe percentage of their income.

“You should leverage on loans, but never take more than 20% of your income,” he added.

The businessman’s remarks have led many Nigerians to share their thoughts online.

One user @_Ekezie wrote, “Only people who build real wealth like this can write a book and host or speak in seminars.

The rest are either motivational speakers or political looters who can’t defend their wealth.”

Another user @THE_CRAFT3R commented, “Imagine going to the bank to take a loan of N1,000. It just goes to show how deeply the country has fallen behind. This is the wildest thing I’ve heard this year.”

However, Maduka’s view sheds light on the role of loans in financial growth.

This comment comes at a time when public trust in wealth sources is being questioned, and more Nigerians are paying attention to how money is made and managed.

While the billionaire businessman, Aliko Dangote, remains silent on the claim, the conversation continues to gain momentum both online and offline.
