Court sacks Rivers APC chairman, legal adviser

The crisis of the Rivers chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC, worsened on Thursday following the sack of its Chairman, Emeka Beke and the Legal Adviser, Ifeanyichukwu Azubuike by a Rivers State High Court.

Their sack came with an exparte order granted by Justice D.G.Kio, following an application jointly filed by seven members of the State Working Committee, among who are Omite Eferebo, Chidi Nweke and Chike Enyinda.

In a sworn affidavit filed before the court, the State Working Committee members said they have passed a vote of no confidence in the Chairman and the Legal Adviser of the party respectively.They therefore demanded that the court should court bar them from parading themselves as Chairman and Legal Adviser of Rivers APC respectively.

They also sought for an order of Court restraining them from interfering in the activities of the executive committee of Rivers APC, pending the determination of the substantive case.Their prayers were granted by Justice Kio and the case was adjourned to April 19,2023 for hearing of motion on notice.
