All primary elections in the All Progressive Congress (APC) , Rivers State has been nullified under Port Harcourt division of the Federal High Court concerning the coming 2023 general elections.
Since 2018 , the state leadership of the party has suffered critical internal crises that has cost it its chance at the gubernatorial election. In 2019, the court has disqualified the primary elections of the party over complaints from the faction of former lawmaker Magnus Abe ,then pulled out of the primaries earlier May after accusing the party leadership of conducting the process in a “skewed, biased and prejudiced” manner.
He however moved to the Social Democratic Party where he won the governorship ticket but his loyalists challenged APC’s decision in court.
