Big Brother Naija star Phyna has publicly announced her decision to drop her family surname, Otabor, citing a lack of familial connection and unresolved questions about her origins.
The reality TV star took to X to share her emotional struggle, revealing how she was “tossed around” among relatives as a child and lacked the parental love she desperately sought.
“It has been proven that I actually have no family, and nobody knows how I came about,” Phyna wrote, adding, “I’m still searching for answers… I can’t even describe how I feel or what I’m going through right now.”
Phyna’s revelations come a year after her father, Felix Otabor, accused her of abandoning the family following her BBNaija win.
While he later admitted she bought him a car, he expressed dissatisfaction, which Phyna attributed to a history of rejection and lack of care.
“Growing up, I always heard, ‘You are not my daughter.’ I would beg for parental love,” she said in a Snapchat post.
This emotional outburst highlights the star’s deep pain, emphasizing the importance of compassion and care for all individuals, regardless of their circumstances.
