A tragic incident has shaken members of the All Progressives Congress in Benue State.
Three party members lost their lives in a fatal accident while traveling to a zonal congress.
The accident occurred along the busy Makurdi–Lafia expressway on March 25, 2026. The victims were said to be heading to Lafia for the APC zonal congress.
However, the journey was cut short by a crash that claimed three lives instantly. Several others were also injured during the incident.
Meanwhile, emergency response efforts were carried out, and the injured were rushed for treatment. It was confirmed that medical care is currently being provided.
The development was confirmed by the APC State Organising Secretary, James Ornguga. He spoke on the situation and provided details about the victims.
“Yes, we lost three of our members from Ogbadigbo, while others were injured and are receiving treatment at BSU Teaching Hospital,” Ornguga said.
However, no official cause of the accident has been released at this time. Investigations are expected to be carried out by relevant authorities.
Moreover, stakeholders are urging improved highway monitoring and stricter enforcement of traffic rules.
Meanwhile, party members are mourning the loss of their colleagues.
