Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno has dismissed the managing director and CEO of Ibom Power Company (IPC), Engr. Meyen Etukudoh, as part of ongoing restructuring efforts to improve the state’s power sector.
The announcement, made through a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, explained that the decision aligns with the administration’s ARISE Agenda, aimed at enhancing efficiency and delivering sustainable power solutions.
Etukudoh has been instructed to hand over his responsibilities to the state’s Commissioner for Power, who will oversee operations until a new leader is appointed.
The decision comes shortly after Etukudoh attributed the statewide power outage to a dispute between Ibom Power and Savannah Energy Company.
Governor Eno expressed appreciation for Etukudoh’s contributions but emphasized the need for leadership changes to facilitate growth and development across all sectors.
“As part of the ongoing restructuring of this administration… Governor Umo Eno has relieved the Managing Director of Ibom Power Company Limited, Engr. Meyen Etukudoh, of his duties,” the statement read.
This leadership change highlights the administration’s commitment to creating opportunities for innovative policies and more inclusive governance to benefit the community.
