The Caretaker Committee Chairman of the Takum Local Government Council in Taraba State, Boyi Manja, who was abducted on Sunday has regained his freedom which was confirmed by the Taraba State Police Command on Friday.
It was gathered that Manja was released on Thursday night.The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Usman Abdulahi, who confirmed the release of the council boss said the release was as a result of joint operation with sister agencies, including the military.Abdullahi said no ransom was paid.According to him, the heat from the joint team forced his abductors to set him free.
The leader of the Local Government Legislative Council, Pius Bulus Gauva, stated that the council was happy with the release of the chairman.“We thank God and the security agencies for their role in ensuring his release. He is back home and has since reunite with his family,” he said.
