Thomas Markle Sr., the estranged father of Meghan Markle, is reportedly under investigation following an alleged discovery of child sexual abuse images in his home.
The disturbing claims emerged after his son, Thomas Markle Jr., reportedly found the material while searching for a phone.
According to The Sun, Thomas Jr., 60, said he discovered videos, photographs and files on storage devices.
He reportedly contacted authorities after seeing the material, which he described as deeply upsetting.
“When I found this material I was h%rrified and I had no option but to report my dad,” he said.
Thomas Jr. reportedly contacted the FBI, Pennsylvania state police and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Further checks of three hard drives allegedly uncovered additional material.
He also said the discovery had changed his relationship with his father after years of caring for and supporting him.
“I won’t speak to my father ever again unless I’m called to give evidence against him.”
Describing his reaction, Thomas Jr. reportedly told a friend:
“What I saw made me sick to the stomach all this stuff was just dumped on me and I didn’t know what to do.”
The report says authorities in the Philippines are preparing to take possession of the alleged evidence for forensic examination.
A task force involving agencies responsible for anti-trafficking and protecting women and children has reportedly been formed.
The FBI is also said to have acknowledged receiving an affidavit from Thomas Jr. However, the allegations have not been established as proven facts.
An insider reportedly told the publication that the allegations could shed light on Meghan’s estrangement from her father.
“Now maybe people will finally understand why she has had nothing to do with her father since 2018.”
Meanwhile, Thomas Sr.’s daughter, Samantha Markle, reportedly defended him and accused her brother of seeking revenge.
According to Page Six, neither Thomas Sr. nor Thomas Jr. immediately responded to requests for comment.
Representatives for Meghan and Prince Harry also reportedly did not respond.
Thomas Sr., 82, is reportedly receiving care at a rehabilitation facility in Florida, he previously suffered a stroke and underwent the amputation of his left leg.
The investigation remains ongoing, and the allegations should not be treated as a finding of guilt.
