Popular Nigerian skit maker and actor Broda Shaggi has reportedly been hospitalised after he was allegedly shot while filming a comedy skit.
According to reports, the entertainer, whose real name is Samuel Perry, was injured on Sunday afternoon, March 8. The incident reportedly happened under the Sango-Ota bridge in Ogun State while a skit was being recorded.
Sources close to the situation said the shooting came as a shock to members of his crew. Immediately after the incident occurred, Broda Shaggi was rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.
A police source confirmed that the comedian was quickly taken to Blooming Care Hospital in the Alakuko area of Lagos State. Medical personnel reportedly acted fast to stabilise him.
First aid treatment was provided as soon as he arrived at the hospital.
However, after the initial medical care, doctors decided he needed further treatment at another facility. Therefore, he was transferred to Duchess Hospital located in the Government Residential Area of Ikeja.
Reports indicate that Broda Shaggi is currently recovering at the hospital. Meanwhile, fans have continued to send messages of support and prayers for his quick recovery.
The Lagos State Police Command has also confirmed the development. Police spokesperson Abimbola Adebisi explained that authorities became aware of the situation through the hospital.
“The hospital contacted the police to report that a gunshot victim had been brought to their facility. Detectives and a patrol team were immediately mobilised to the hospital, where they discovered that the victim was a skit maker and social media influencer popularly known as Broda Shaggi.
“He was seen on a stretcher with an injury to his thigh. The location of the incident is in Sango-Ota and not within our jurisdiction, but the investigation is ongoing,” she said.
Meanwhile, authorities have not yet revealed how the shooting happened or who might be responsible.
Details surrounding the Broda Shaggi shot incident remain unclear at this time. However, security officials say investigations are continuing to determine what truly happened.
