U.S. President Donald Trump and tech billionaire Elon Musk were spotted together at the memorial event for right-wing activist Charlie Kirk in Glendale, Arizona, reigniting speculation about a possible reconciliation.
The two men, who had a public falling out months ago, were filmed shaking hands and exchanging words inside a packed stadium as tens of thousands gathered to honor Kirk.
The brief but visible reunion shocked many observers who believed their feud had ended their once close alliance for good.
Musk, who owns social media platform X (formerly Twitter), fueled further attention by posting a photo of himself seated alongside Trump with the caption: “For Charlie.”
Trump and Musk were once considered strong allies.
Musk donated more than $270 million to Trump’s presidential campaign and played a role in the administration’s experimental “Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).”
However, their relationship soured after Musk publicly slammed Trump’s tax and spending bill, describing it as “utterly insane and destructive.”
The feud worsened when Musk accused Trump of having ties to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.
Trump later hinted he might “take a look” at deporting Musk, who was born in South Africa.
The heated exchanges on social media appeared to signal the end of their partnership.
It is unclear whether Sunday’s appearance was their first meeting since the fallout.
Nevertheless, their handshake and cordial exchange have raised questions about whether the two may be working toward reconciliation.
Trump continues his push for another White House run, while Musk remains a dominant voice in technology and politics through his platform X.
