“I Failed as a Father” – Ibrahim Chatta Breaks Down Over Losing First Child Due to Hospital Bill

Popular Nollywood actor, Ibrahim Chatta, has opened up about a heartbreaking chapter in his life—one marked by loss, pain, and financial struggle.

In a deeply emotional moment captured in a behind-the-scenes video on set, the veteran actor recalled how he lost his first child due to his inability to pay hospital bills.

The actor explained that his newborn daughter passed away while receiving treatment at a hospital in the Iddo area of Lagos.

Despite his desperate efforts to raise money, he was unable to afford the medical care she needed.

“She was taken to the hospital in the Iddo area of Lagos State. I trekked from Ijora Badia to Makoko, and I couldn’t get any money until she died,” Chatta said.

The actor further disclosed that his late daughter had to be buried in a wooden Coca-Cola crate

. “My first child was buried in the old wooden crate of Coke,” he shared.

Chatta went on to clarify that his son Malik, whom many fans know, is not his firstborn.

“Malik is not my firstborn. My first child is a baby girl. I lost her because I couldn’t pay hospital bills,” he said.

Moreover, many described him as a true example of strength, having risen from extreme hardship to become one of Nollywood’s most respected actors.
