Air India Dreamliner Escapes Disaster Days After Fatal Crash

Passengers aboard an Air India flight from Hong Kong to New Delhi had a close call on Monday, June 16, 2025, after the aircraft returned mid-air due to a suspected technical issue.

The flight, operated by a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, had just taken off from Hong Kong International Airport before the pilot decided it was safer not to continue.

The near-miss occurred just days after another Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner crashed in Ahmedabad, claiming 241 lives.

The two incidents, though unrelated, have raised concerns about aircraft safety and technical inspections.

According to reports, the pilot communicated with air traffic control shortly after takeoff.

The aircraft landed safely, and all passengers and crew disembarked without injuries.

However, the incident has drawn attention to ongoing safety concerns regarding the airline’s fleet.

Aviation authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the technical fault.

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner has been widely used for international routes due to its fuel efficiency and advanced technology.

However, many passengers have expressed worry, especially following the Ahmedabad tragedy.

Meanwhile, Air India has yet to issue a detailed public statement addressing the two incidents.
