Drama Unfolds as Opeyemi Aiyeola Backs Laide Bakare in Eniola Badmus Clash

A heated drama has unfolded in Nollywood as actress Opeyemi Aiyeola publicly backed her colleague Laide Bakare in a growing dispute with fellow actress Eniola Badmus.

The ongoing clash, which began during a movie premiere, has now sparked a larger conversation about how public figures should handle personal conflicts, especially in the digital space.

The controversy started after Eniola Badmus and Laide Bakare clashed at the premiere of Owambe Thieves, a film produced by Eniola Ajao.

A video from the event surfaced online showing Eniola Badmus walking away from the dance floor.

She was heard saying in Yoruba, “Don’t film us together, we’re not friends.”

Following this, Laide Bakare took to social media to expose her chat with Eniola.

In the messages, Eniola expressed her displeasure: “Must I be in your picture?” and “Don’t bring your terrible animalistic behavior around me.” She also stated, “You heard me right. Stay farrrrrrr.”

In response, Laide fired back, accusing Eniola of ingratitude and reminding her of past support.

She captioned the post with strong words: “I gave you your first major role when no one wanted to associate with you because of your ugly looks and obesity… Almighty God will judge you insha Allah. You have started what you can’t finish and I promise you, you must collect.”

The situation escalated when Opeyemi Aiyeola liked Laide’s post, which openly mocked Eniola for undergoing weight-loss surgery.

Recall that Opeyemi had previously called out Eniola for allegedly body-shaming her after she posted a video revealing her hair loss.

Moreover, netizens had a lot to say about the situation. One user, Zeecontinental, says, “She is not the first to do surgery, nor the last. Your classless behavior can’t be justified.”

Another user, Lola_kesey3, expressed disappointment over Laide’s actions, especially the moment she touched and pushed Eniola.

“@laidebakare I don’t know you or Eniola B, however watching the video…why did you touch and push Eniola? This is a physical abuse, and I believe you are educated and exposed. Please, I don’t care what the issue btw the two of you is. This is very immature. I respect Eniola more for not retaliating. How do you dare touch and push her? Not at all. It’s a no no for me. The behaviour is so bad. What are you teaching your children? To be physically abusive towards others. No! Common now. If Portable does I guess it is expected. I rate you higher than that. There is no justification for it. And your abuse is even evidence-based…live event. It is so sad how some of you guys behave in Nigeria. I personally respect beauty and brain. For this, I respect Eniola’s attitude towards the situation. I can’t imagine one person pushing me like you did to Eniola.”

Meanwhile, Italo_of_lagos defended Eniola, mocking Laide’s appearance. “@eniola_badmus get mouth pass u and fine pass u… u no get level for industry.”

Adding humor to the tense situation, another netizen, Emperor_olatunde, commented, “Every Eniola Ajao movie premiere na gbasgbos dey later end am… even Bobrisky never heal from his wound.”

The clash between the actresses has sparked widespread reactions, but it has also raised deeper questions.

As public figures, their behavior, both online and offline, holds influence.

Therefore, handling personal disputes privately or maturely is more advisable.
