One year after the sudden passing of beloved Nollywood actor Junior Pope, his wife, Jennifer, has shared a heartbreaking tribute.
The actor had died in a tragic boat accident during a movie shoot in April last year.
His untimely death left a deep wound in the hearts of fans, friends, and especially his young family.
Jennifer marked the one-year remembrance with touching family photos and an emotional note, reflecting on life since her husband’s passing.
Despite the pain, her strength and resilience have been admired by many.
Her message served not only as a tribute but also as a reminder of the depth of love they shared and the life they built together.
In her words, “It’s been one year of standing in the face of our unimaginable loss, and not a day has gone by without a thought of you.”
According to Jennifer, each day since his death has been filled with struggles to remain strong for their children.
She explained how the absence of her husband has created a void that no words could describe.
“Your love still surrounds us, your laughter echoes in our hearts, and your presence is felt in the quiet moments when we miss you most,” she added.
The pain of explaining the loss to their children has been one of the toughest parts of her journey.
Jennifer shared that the boys still cling to the promises their father made.
“I still don’t have the right words to respond to Jason and Jaden wanting to know if Daddy will fulfill his promise of taking them to a proper football academy,” she said.
Moreover, the youngest child, fondly called J Papa, also asks about the toy car Junior Pope had promised him.
“Jamon keeps asking when daddy is bringing the big toy car he promised him,” she painfully recalled.
Jennifer also expressed sincere gratitude to those who have supported her and her family since the tragedy.
“We appreciate everyone who sympathized with us and stood and still stand by us through our time of grief,” she noted, recognizing the strength she has drawn from others’ love and support.
Jennifer, while trying to hold back the pain, still admitted that letting go has not been easy.
“The grief remains heavy, the absence left a void that words can never fill,” she said. Yet, her message also echoed deep faith and hope in God’s plan, even in sorrow.
In addition to her tribute, she praised the late actor’s impact on many lives.
“You did not only leave us, your family, but so many who loved you and loved your works,” she said.
She further stated “Though you’re no longer by our side, you live on in every memory, every smile, and every tear. We shall carry you with us always until we meet again.”
