U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has pledged to implement sweeping changes to transgender policies immediately upon taking office, vowing to “stop the transgender lunacy” and reinforce traditional gender roles in America.
Speaking at the AmericaFest conference for young conservatives in Phoenix, Arizona, Trump stated, “There will only be male and female in America. I will sign executive orders to end child sexual mutilation and get transgender people out of the military and out of our elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools.”
The president-elect also promised to address gender identity in sports by ensuring “men are kept out of women’s sports,” further stating that the official stance of his administration would be that “there are only two genders, male and female.”
Trump’s remarks align with recent Republican efforts to limit gender-affirming care and redefine gender policies, a move that has deepened political divides across the U.S.
He also painted a hopeful picture for the future, promising, “The golden age of America is upon us,” while vowing to end international conflicts and prevent global wars.
