British supermodel Georgina Cooper has tragically passed away at the age of 46 while on the Greek island of Kos, just months after marrying her husband, Nigel.
Cooper, a mother of one, initially fell ill on the island and was taken to the local hospital before being airlifted to Crete, where she spent five days in intensive care.
Despite medical efforts, she passed away, and her body was flown back to England last week. Dean Goodman, her former agent, shared, “Georgina loved Greece and told me she was going back with her new husband—but she tragically died there a fortnight ago… She had plans for the future. She was a genuine superstar.”
Known as “London’s original gaptoothed girl” and a prominent face in 1990s fashion, Cooper rose to fame at just 15, working for some of the world’s biggest brands and gracing covers like US Vogue.
She had recently stepped away from modeling to focus on raising her son, Sonny, and most recently worked in hospitality in Kent.
Tributes from friends and fellow models, including Jade Parfitt and Helena Christensen, celebrated her as a “ray of light” and a “very popular model… always laughing and being naughty in all the best ways.”
Her legacy in fashion and her vibrant personality leave a lasting impact on those who knew her, serving as a reminder to live fully and make the most of every moment.
