A combined team of police and military men have been deployed to silence the unrest at Mile 2 area of Lagos State.
It has been reported that tension occurred in the community on Tuesday morning as truck drivers protested the death of their colleague allegedly killed by officials of Lagos State Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit, aka Task Force.
The protesters set bonfires on the main road, thereby disrupting the flow of vehicular movement.
Fortunately, peace had since returned as the security operatives were seen manning strategic locations in the area. The state Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, also visited the scene of the incident where he addressed some of the protesting truck drivers.
