At about 11am on Sunday, six persons in Odiokwu community in Ahaoda West Local Government Area of Rivers State were reportedly murdered .

According to eyewitnesses a resident who was preparing to go to church was among those shot dead.Residents of Odiokwu community under anonymity expressed worry that about 27 people had died in Ekpeye kingdom made up of Ahoada West and Ahoada East local government areas in different attacks in the month of March.
The concerned residents called on security agencies to come to the aid of the people who live in perpetual fear of violent attacks from rival cult gang.Cases of cult clashes have been on the rise in Rivers, with several people killed in the aftermath.
