Two police officers were stabbed by a man early Friday in central London while ruling out terrorism for safeguard ahead Queen Elizabeth II funeral.According to the police,the officers were hospitalized while the attacker was arrested for assault ,also in the hospital following the incident which happened 6:0am at Leicester Square.
“The incident is not being treated as terror related.” a metropolitan stated.The busy area is less than a mile from where the queen’s coffin is lying in state at parliament.
London mayor Sadiq Khan called the attack on the officers “utterly appalling” .“These brave officers were doing their duty and assisting the public at this momentous time for our country,we owe them a huge debt of gratitude”.Khan added he was in close contact with the Met’s new Commissioner, Mark Rowley, who only took up the post on Monday.
