A tragic incident occurred on Christmas Day in Gombe State as 22 people sustained injuries when a commercial bus lost control and rammed into a Christmas procession in the Tumfure community.
The procession, which was en route to the Government House and Gombe Emir’s Palace for homage, turned chaotic after the bus accident disrupted the celebration. 
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Gombe State Police Command, Buhari Abdullahi, stated, “The injured were taken to the Federal Teaching Hospital and Specialist Hospital for treatment.”
He added that an investigation had been launched on the orders of the Commissioner of Police to determine the cause of the accident and prevent future occurrences.
While sympathizing with the victims, Abdullahi emphasized the need for drivers to ensure their vehicles are in good condition before embarking on trips to safeguard lives.
